Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain made a telephone call to President Asif Ali Zardari and inquired about his health on Thursday. Presidential Spokesman Farhatullah Babar told reporters that the president thanked Altaf for asking about his health. Well-placed sources said that during the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on how to further strengthen and improve relations between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the MQM.
Altaf assured President Zardari that the MQM would not part ways with the PPP for the sake of stability of the democratic order in the country and his party would continue cooperation with the PPP on important national issues. Sources said Altaf conveyed his concern to President Zardari over the attitude of certain PPP leaders. However, both of them agreed to continue the consultation and dialogue process between the two parties.
President Zardari said the country was passing through a critical phase of its history and no single party could steer it out of the crises all alone. Sindh was inundated in floods and Punjab was facing the dengue virus, so there was a need for political parties to unite and move forward together, he stressed. The president went on to say that the PPP believed in politics of reconciliation and it would continue to pursue this policy, envisaged by former premier Benazir Bhutto.

  1. Correct. Why MQM should part ways with the government. When has MQM parted ways with any government. MQM always is in the government. So far they are in the government they keep praising the government and as soon as they come out of the government as blackmailing tactics then they find all the faults in the government and same Mr Zardari who was buddy of Altaf Hussain becomes a pariah and they start calling him Mr ten percent,

The fact is that the MQM can not live without power because they have access to official documents and they enjoy numerous perks while they are in the government. With the help of perennial governor of Sindh they form a parallel government in the official mansion of the Ishrat ul Ibaad,

MQM without power is just like a fish without water.

  2. Chips of same block cannot stay apart;congenital liars, congenital blackmailers, bathakhors, target killers, congenital corrupts, land grabbers, mafia dons etc.Yet they all pretend saints, innocent, pious and the best in the world. They are oxygen to each other.SO MQM,ANP.PPP-Z cannot stay alone and must ruin poor masses and country in the name of ‘usali sisysat, usuli mouakaf, mumamti siyastat’ to save democracy etcetc.Liars, liars liars and lies, lies and lies .They have ruined people and must be punished now and got rid of.

  3. Political parties contest elections in order to come to power. Not a single party goes into elections with a view to forming an opposition. What harm does it make if the MQM is in power? I could never make it why some people hate MQM so much? Is it because it largely represents the Urdu-speaking Mohajirs?
