Welcoming the statement of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Coordination Committee on Thursday said the party will set no conditions for reconciliation with the Awami National Party (ANP) and wants peace in the city at any cost. Earlier, ANP leader Hoti, while talking to reporters at a polio eradication drive, had said that it was about time to work for the prosperity of the nation and peace in Karachi. “Spirit and passion are required to establish peace in Karachi and all stakeholders have to work together to achieve this goal. Until we move forward from these rifts things will not improve,” Hoti had said. The coordination committee members stated that it would be in the country’s best interest to forget negativities and increase mutual understanding and accept the positions of each other.
“If the same positive attitude of leaders and workers from both parties persists, an atmosphere of alliance, brotherhood in Karachi and across the country as well will develop,” it was said.
