The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) central leaders including its ministers and parliamentarians will meet Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday (today) at PM’s hosted dinner to sort out various issues with the delay in release of development funds for PML-Q members of the national and provincial assemblies at the top of the agenda.
PML-Q President Shujaat Hussain, federal ministers Pervaiz Elahi, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Anwar Ali Cheema, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Syed Ghous Ali Shah Senator Wasim Sajjad, Mushahid Hussain Sayed and other parliamentarians.
A source in the PML-Q told Pakistan Today that the party leaders were meeting the premier to get some issues related to power-sharing deal between two parties which were pending since months like release of development funds to PML-Q MNAs and MPAs resolved. “The PPP leadership had promised to allocate huge development funds to PML-Q MNAs and MPAs at the time of clinching power-sharing agreement in May this year but till today no progress has been made on the ground,” said a PML-Q leader seeking not to be named.
He said PML-Q leadership was facing pressure from party MNAs and ministers over delay in release of development grants by the federal government. The PML-Q ministers would take up matters related to their ministries with the PM. “Federal Minister for Human Resource Development Wajahat Hussain wants placement of matters related to ILO and appointment of Community Welfare Attaches under his ministry and the PML-Q leadership would ask the premier to accept Wajahat’s proposal,” said a PML-Q source.
The source said the PML-Q leaders would also complain about PPP ministers ‘cold response’ to the requests of PML-Q parliamentarians. The source said that PPP-PML-Q seat adjustment formula for next elections was not part of the agenda of the meeting.
