PPFL 2nd phase from today

The second phase of the 8th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) featuring 12 departmental and four club teams will resume on Thursday (today, September 15). The second phase will start with matches between KPT and Baloch FC at the KPT Football Stadium, Karachi, and PIA face Muslim FC at the Peoples Football Stadium, Karachi. As many as 70 matches have already been played in the 240-match event. The venues approved for holding matches of second phase of PPFL in Karachi comprise Peoples Football Stadium that will host 21 matches, KPT Football Stadium (17 matches), Sadiq Shaheed Stadium Quetta (31 matches), Noushki Football Stadium (two matches), Government High School Chaman will (seven matches), Agriculture University Faisalabad (30 matches) and Municipal Stadium Rawalpindi (45 matches). The 16 teams taking part in the marathon event, to go on till December 28, 2011 are: WAPDA, KRL, PIA, KESC, Army, KPT, PAF, Afghan FC, Navy, PEL, Baloch FC, NBP, HBL, PMC Club Athletico Faisalabad, Police and Muslim FC. WAPDA has won the Premier League four times, Army won two times and KRL one time. Each team will play 30 matches on home and away basis. Each match has a match bonus of Rs 30,000 and the prize money of the first position is Rs 7 00,000, Rs 500,000 for runner-up and Rs 400, 000 for third position. Rs 100,000
for best goalkeeper, Rs 100,000 for best Match Commissioner,
Rs 100,000 for best referee and Rs 50,000 for assistant referee.
