Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheraz Kiani adjourned the proceedings against accused police officers including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) on Wednesday. The police officers were involved in an encounter case and the revision petition of the accused was still pending in the Lahore High Court (LHC). The judge fixed September 26 as the next date of hearing while the Crl.
Revision No 803/11 was still pending in the LHC. As per details, three robbers including Shehbaz Butt,stormed into Makkah Medical Store at Yuhanabad a few months. They looted Rs 35,000 while the owner of the store showed resistance and started fighting with Shehbaz. The other two other robbers escaped the scene as the shopkeeper’s brother arrived. Shehbaz shot in the air to scare the shopkeeper and his brother but was caught by them. Later two bikes of the Muhafiz Squad arrived at the spot and Sub-inspector Riaz took Shehbaz in custody and encountered him at Rohi Nala.
