Alleging that the Punjab government ignored the city slums in the fumigation drive, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Pervaiz Elahi directed party workers on Wednesday to take all measures to control dengue in their respective towns and villages.
Talking to party delegates at the State Guest House, Elahi said the provincial government was making tall claims regarding dengue control, but the media was continuously exposing their assertions of protecting people against the epidemic.
He alleged that the chief minister, instead of utilising the funds for public good, was using them for personal publicity. The PML-Q leader said causalities of dengue patients were increasing every passing day because of lack of facilities at public hospitals and insufficient fumigation in the city.
Elahi also accused the chief minister of victimising health department employees for their incompetence regarding dengue campaign.
