Pakistan U-20 rugby team return home

The Pakistan under 20 rugby team have returned home after the tour of Uzbekistan where they got training and took part in the Under 20 Asian Div III tournament. It was for the first time, the under 20 team played in the new 4-team format for the Asian Championship and the only 12 team out of 28 teams entered the competition. Pakistan’s entry was highly appreciated by the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) citing Pakistan Rugby Union’s commitment to grow the game at the age grade level. The Pakistan team left for Uzbekistan on September 3 and went through the international level coaching camp after which they played against one of the strongest opposition Kazakhstan. The under 20 team lost the first match by a big margin. In the third place match, Pakistan were up against another Uzbekistan. The Pakistan team had a good game managing to put 12 points on the score board. Eventually the Uzbeks’s with their bigger forwards proved too strong and won the contest by 31-12.
