The Foreign Office (FO) said on Wednesday that Pakistan would promote cordial relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In a recent briefing, FO spokeswoman Tehmina Janjua said friendly and peaceful relations existed between both countries and Pakistan wanted to expand and strengthen them.
She said Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, on a visit to Iran, assured the Iranian leadership of Pakistan’s interest in increasing cooperation with Iran in every sector, especially trade. Pakistan wanted to expand the volume of trade to $10 billion, she added.
