A division bench of the Lahore High Court gave last chance to Punjab Governor on Wednesday for filing reply on several intra-court appeals against the dismissal of writ petitions by a single bench regarding appointment of vice chancellors in six public sector universities.
The bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu passed the order on appeals filed by Dr Hassan Amir Shah and others. The bench was told that no reply was received from the Punjab governor in the matter. The bench directed Additional Advocate General Punjab (AAGP) Hanif Khatana to contact governor’s principal secretary and file a reply otherwise the appointments would be cancelled.
