Misri Shah Police arrested two conmen on Wednesday, one of whom was masquerading as a ‘protocol officer of the Punjab governor’, and seized forged identification cards of Prime Minister’s Secretariat, army uniforms and fake appointment letters of various jobs from their possession.
Police said the arrested men were identified as Yaseen and Mudassar, swindlers who had worked with an accomplice named Mukarram Khan to con citizens out of hundreds of thousands of rupees on the pretext of getting them lucrative jobs in various government departments and ‘selling’ them Governor’s House vehicles. Police said Yaseen usually told people that he was a protocol officer for the Punjab governor. The gang used expensive cars to dazzle people, police said. They said both Yaseen and Mudassar had swindled a resident of Chakwal out of hundreds of thousands of rupees and given him fake appointment letters for a government job.
