Young doctors withdrew their services from the out patient departments (OPD) of hospitals across Lahore after a policeman scuffled with a doctor on Tuesday, Pakistan Today has learnt. According to details, a scene was created around the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) after a police constable scuffled with Dr Bajwa of LGH and registered an FIR against him.
Upon registration of the FIR, the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) Punjab announced a strike in OPDs of all public hospitals immediately. An YDA delegation met DIG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, who not only reprimanded the constable but discharged the FIR as well. An YDA spokesperson said the matter has been resolved and the strike called off after the meeting with the DIG.
