Women’s education a must for development: Samina Ghurki

Federal Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki stressed Tuesday the need to impart quality education to women enabling them to participate in the economic development of the country.
Addressing a transcript awarding ceremony for graduate and post graduate students at the Women Institute of Science and Humanities, she said women comprising fifty percent of the total population were serving in various field of life with dedication. “We should equip them with the modern education facilities and provide them opportunities to use their abilities in the best possible way for the betterment of the country.”
She said Islam gave importance to education and through providing the latest educational facilities to the youth of the country the nation could meet the challenges of the modern times. She congratulated the successful students and urged them to play exemplary role in the development process of the country. The minister also appreciated the WISH management and assured them of her support for the institute.
Earlier, WISH President Prof Tayyab Gulzar said the institute was making efforts to empower women by imparting them modern and Islamic education as those young girls were the future of the country. He also briefed the chief guest about the activities of the institute. The minister awarded transcripts among successful students and wished them success in their future.
