Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq has got clearance from the Indian authorities to figure in the Champions League later this year. Representing Leicestershire, Razzaq feels very excited to play the league for his county. Razzaq received the letter of clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday. “Being a Pakistani, it is always a special feeling to play in front of Indian crowds,” Razzaq said.
Razzaq after the letter of clearance would get the visa within a week and then get ready as the only Pakistani player to play in the Champions League for his county. The BCCI which runs the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as the Champions League, barred Pakistani players from featuring in both events after they played in the inaugural IPL in 2008.Razzaq will be the second player after Yasir Arafat to play in the league. Arafat represented Sussex in 2009.
