Muhammad Mohsin hammered a century for WAPDA on the opening day of the Inter-Region/Department U-19 three-day Cricket Tournament here at the LCCA ground on Tuesday.
WAPDA scored 268 runs in 82.5 overs at the end of first day. Mohsin was the impressive batsman for WAPDA. He made 152 runs and remained unbeaten. Lahore Ravi’s Usman Khan and Ali Sabbir took four and three wickets respectively.
Group A:
WAPDA U-19 v Lahore Ravi U-19
WAPDA U-19: 268-10 in 82.5 overs: (Muhammad Mohsin 152*, Moheeb Amjad 33, Usman Khan 4-88, Ali Shabbir 3-39, Mohtashim 2-48).
NBP U-19 v Karachi Region:
NBP U-19 scored 346 runs for six in 83 overs at Country Club Muridke. NBP’s Sohail Ahmed scored unbeaten 123 runs while Sami Aslam scored 116 runs. Muhammad Salman of Karachi Region took three wickets for 96 runs.
Sialkot Region U-19 v Faisalabad Region U-19:
Sialkot Region U-19 were bowled out at 246 runs in 76 overs at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad. Sialkot’s Imtinan-ul-Haq scored 75 runs while Luqman Butt scored 41 runs. Ashqani Aitzaz grabbed four wickets for 47 runs for Faisalabad. At the end of the day, Faisalabad Region U-19 made 15 runs for one in 6 overs
Group C:
Abbottabad Region U-19 v Lahore Shalimar U-19:
Abbottabad Region U-19 were bowled out on 347 runs in 82 overs at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium Abbottabad. Abbottabad’s Nisar Afridi scored 80 runs while Kamran Ghulam (74) and Khalid Kail (62*) were the other prominent scorers. Lahore’s Asfand Mehran took seven wickets for 101 runs.
Islamabad Region U-19 v Peshawar Region U-19
Islamabad Region U-19 were bowled out on just 130 runs in 61 overs at Diamond Club Ground Islamabad. Muhammad Irfan scored 45 runs for Islamabad. Peshawar’s Imran Javed grabbed four wickets for 38 runs while Hazrat Shah took three wickets for 15 runs. At the end of the first day play, Peshawar Region U-19 made 52 runs for three in 22 overs. Peshawar’s Mati Ullah scored 21 runs. Islamabad’s Muhammad Irfan took two wickets for five runs.
