I will quit when no longer capable: Dar

Pakistan elite umpire Aleem Dar has made it clear that he will leave the arena the time he feels he has started to wilt in his abilities. He felt proud as a Pakistani after winning the ICC award for the third time in a row.
Dar, 43, on completing his hatrick, said:”It’s a great honour and I’m thankful to everyone at the ICC and also my colleagues on the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires along with the Pakistan Cricket Board. I would also like to thank all my family for their support since I’m away nearly eight months of the year umpiring.”
“I would keep relying on my own skills rather than relying on technology,” he maintained. “Technology is good for improvement in the game and its better for correction of mistakes. The pressure to fight with technology is always there. In fact the pressure of taking the right decision is always there,” he added.
“The umpire should stay calm in all his decision-making because he has to take the right decision in a shot span of time,” he said. “There is always a chance of error as I am also a human and once I feel, I have started making mistakes, I will quit,” he added.
On the other hand, contrary to the speculations, Wahab Riaz could not win the emerging player of the year award as West Indian spinner Davendra Bishoo impressed the judges more. However, Umer Gul is the only other Pakistani player who has been selected among the World Test XI.
