Pakistan and Romania sign agreement for economic cooperation

Pakistan and Romania signed an agreement on economic, scientific and technical cooperation to promote bilateral cooperation in industry, agriculture, forestry, energy, telecommunication, computing and informatics, transport, logistics, environment protection, tourism, investment promotion and SME cooperation.
Secretary Economic Affairs Division Abdul Wajid Rana and Romanian Ambassador Emilian Ion signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments. Under the agreement, Pakistan-Romania Joint Commission would be set up. The commission would hold meetings at least once a year, alternately in Pakistan and Romania, and would review progress of decisions undertaken in the previous meetings.
It would work for identification of potential opportunities, develop proposals for economic cooperation of government institutions, as well as establish ad-hoc or permanent expert working groups and committee of both countries. The agreement shall promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of research and development, education, health case and science and technology as well.
