Jamaat e Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the MQM was the agent of an international mafia working to break Pakistan. Addressing a press conference at Mansoora on Monday, he said the terrorism in the port city had no ethnic, racial or factional background. In fact, a fascist organization was holding Karachi as hostage and wanted to harm the independence and solidarity of the country.
He said the MQM had begun the extortion, targeted killing and body bag culture in Karachi. Syed Munawar Hasan said that the MQM had been in power for the last ten years and was always close to the President. The Sindh Governor had been exercising the powers of both Governor and Chief Minister. He said that MQM leader Altaf Husain had not answered the questions raised by Zulfikar Mirza, the civil society and the legal community.
