Sri Lanka pledges to cooperate with Punjab govt against dengue

Sri Lankan government has pledged cooperation with Punjab government in its fight against dengue virus as 17 more dengue patients, including a provincial secretary, died of the infection here on Monday.
According to a spokesman, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had requested for Sri Lankan aid in the fight against dengue. He said that the president of Sri Lanka will send a team of doctors to Punjab to help the province control the outbreak of the dengue virus. The Sri Lankan government will also provide medicines of dengue virus, related equipment and medical staff, he said.
The number of dengue patients in Punjab has reached to 3300, out of which 3040 are in Lahore.
