Hate-mongers appearing on media, says Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif told reporters at the residence of former provincial minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi in Hyderabad on Sunday that those responsible for provoking the controversies, violence and hatred among the people in Karachi were publicly and unscrupulously appearing on the media, and he was surprised at their “indifference and shamelessness”.
He strongly condemned the bloody violence in Karachi, which he said had clouded the minds and souls of the people. Nawaz said everyone should stand united, and that he had no personal agenda. “This is Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan, but Quaid’s dreams are not coming true. The current situation in Pakistan might even be hurting the Quaid’s soul,” said the PML-N chief. Replying to a question, Nawaz Sharif said the Karachi “staged show” was like a thief blaming the cop.
Regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain’s media tirade, he said those claiming that the Holy Kalima was not the ideological basis for the independence of Pakistan should verify their own ideology first, as history was witness to the facts of Pakistan’s ideology. Nawaz also declined to comment on Hussain’s desired role for Pakistan Army and declared former president Pervez Musharraf to be a coward for “succumbing to American pressure instantly”.
He said further that there was no need for a global appeal for flood relief, except for the habit of begging, a private TV channel reported. Nawaz demanded that the flood-affected areas be immediately declared calamity-hit areas and the victims must get relief, but there was no need to appeal for global help right now. He said the government should waive the micro-loans of poor farmers, and berated the administration for its failure to ensure that relief measures were ready.
