An eight-year-old girl was sexually molested in Shadbagh police precincts late on Sunday. The victim was identified as Sana, resident of Bhaggatpura area of Shadabagh.
Police said the victim was heading towards bazaar when Abdul Rasheed forcibly took her to his rented house and sexually molested her. As Sana did not return home as expected, her parents started searching for her and found her coming out of Rasheed’s house.
Sana informed her parents of what happened upon which the infuriated parents stormed Rasheed’s house and tortured him severely.
Shadbagh police arrived at the crime scene later and took Rasheed into custody, after assuring the locals of taking stern action against the culprit.
