Rangers search Shah Faisal Town for nine hours

The Pakistan Rangers-Sindh conducted a nine-hour targeted search operation in some parts of Shah Faisal Town on Saturday and arrested 35 suspected criminals, including four alleged target killers, Pakistan Today has learnt.
The spokesman for the paramilitary force admitted that a search operation was conducted in the town; however, he refused to disclose the number of suspects arrested during the operation.
According to sources, the Rangers made their way into Salman Farsi Society, Al-Badar Society, Hassan Mujtaba Town, Kehkashan Society and Rafa-e-Aam Society in the wee hours of Saturday.
The operation was conducted from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, during which the paramilitary force raided specific houses and arrested a number of suspects, who were later shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation.
According to sources, the Rangers personnel arrested 35 suspected criminals along with four alleged target killers and recovered weapons from their possession.
A resident of Hassan Mujtaba Town, who requested not to be named, told Pakistan Today that the personnel of the paramilitary force stormed into the town, surrounded the entire area and set up its wireless system in one of the houses to monitor all incoming and outgoing calls.
Some plainclothesmen guided the Rangers, who later forced entry into a number of houses and arrested suspects with weapons, he said.
However, the spokesman for the paramilitary force said the operation was conducted only in Kehkashan Society.
He said a number of criminals were arrested with huge cache of weapons, but he refused to disclose the exact number of detainees.
CID RAIDS: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials claimed to have arrested seven suspects, including three target killers, during raids in different parts of the city.
The CID conducted searches in Machhar Colony, Sir Syed Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Korangi, and arrested seven suspected criminals for targeted killings, extortion and other heinous crimes.
The officials also reported recovering two Kalashnikovs, and seven TT pistols and repeaters from the possession of the detainees.
