Punjab Govt to set up 4 new women’s universities

The Provincial Government will set up four new women universities in the districts of Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan and Bahawalpur to provide education and research facilities to female students. A sum of Rs. 1.5 billion has been marked for the purpose in the current budget. This was stated by Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Raja Muhammad Anwar while talking to a ten member women delegation of government teachers who called on him at his office.
While talking to the delegation, the PEF Chairman briefed about various educational initiatives of the Punjab government and maintained that the government is totally education friendly as it has prioritized the promotion of education. He said a total of Rs. 13 billion was being spent on various welfare projects last year. Raja Anwar impressed upon women teachers to give special attention to the aspect of character building of the students so that Pakistan could be led by educated and true leadership. The delegation was headed by Salma Ahmad.
