Position-holders concerned about country’s situation

Intermediate examinations position-holders expressed deep concern over the country’s prevailing situation and pleaded the government eradicate the problems of the country, including the law and order situation and load-shedding, on an immediate basis.
Overall top position-holder Hira Iftikhar said that the prevailing law and order situation in Karachi was a matter of concern for all Pakistanis adding that load-shedding was the biggest hurdle students faced.
She also lashed out on the class-based education system and said it was creating a gap between people. She asked the government to improve the standard of schools in the province. General Science group topper Ahsas Ahmed emphasised the need of sincere leadership to cope with the present problems of the country. He said he would contribute to the betterment of the nation by joining the bureaucracy or politics. Ahsas also criticised the class-based education system and asked for a uniform system to be implemented nationwide.
He said he would appear in the CSS exams after pursuing software engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology. Daniyal Haleem, another position-holder, also stressed upon the need of immediate change in the country. He too, said he wanted to appear in the CSS exams and join the civil service. Mustabeen Iqbal wished to join politics and wanted to pursue further education in computer sciences. Some students said they were not interested in politics, but pleaded those on influential posts to stop indulging in corrupt practices.
Another position holder asked the Punjab government to improve the standard of schools, rather than ‘wasting’ two billion rupees on distributing laptops.
