On the appeal of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Syed Munawar Hasan, black Day was observed on Sunday, to condemn the US aggression against the Muslim world because of 9/11. Protests were staged in the federal and the provincial capitals and rallies were held where speakers denounced the policies of the United Stated after 9/11. The JI chief while addressing a rally in Lahore said that 9/11 was pre-planned by the US plot to thrust a war on the Muslim world. Under the cover of this war, millions of Muslims were massacred and the Muslim world’s resources were grabbed. He said that by the next anniversary of 9/11, the US would have perished and that Osama bin Laden was born for martyrdom. He said that the west had become habitual of the desecration of the Quran and basic rights of Muslims were being trampled and that Muslims were being denied their independence. The JI chief said that US had invaded Pakistan to conceal its defeat in Afghanistan. He said that his message to the world on this day was that Muslims could not give up on Jehad because of such tactics. He said the conviction of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, the issue of missing persons and suicide bombings were the gifts of the US war on terror. The west’s dream to establish the new world order will not come true, he added.
In Faisalabad, the rally was taken from the District Council Hall to the Clock Tower Chowk. Liaquat Baloch led the rally. The Rawalpindi protest was staged from G.P.O. Chowk and was addressed by the JI Deputy Chief, Dr Kamal. The Islamabad rally was held at the National Press Club and was addressed by the JI Islamabad Chief Muhammad Aslam.
