The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Saturday that the dates to file sales tax and federal excise duty returns for July and August, 2011 had been expanded till September 20. A statement from the FBR said that its Inland Revenue Wing had told all chief commissioners of LTUs and RTOs about the extension, adding that this change would be applicable for all registered people. This extension was made by exercising powers conferred under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act 1990 and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act 2005.
