Dengue count reaches 3,040, hospitals short of beds

With rapidly increasing number of dengue patients in the provincial metropolis, the hospitals have gone short of capacity to look after the patients. More than one patient is being adjusted on one bed in public hospitals. At least 486 more patients were tested dengue positive in Lahore on Sunday raising the total number of dengue patients to 3,040 in the provincial capital. According to Health Department, 2,989 patients have recovered up till now and only 277 patients are admitted in different hospitals. Lahore General Hospital Phase II building has been reserved for dengue victims only and the hospital administration has announced to keep the outdoor department open round the clock for dengue check-up.
