The 1st All Pakistan Munir Ahmad Dar Memorial Floodlight Hockey Tournament will be organised by the District Hockey Association Bahawalpur from September 23 to 30. The PHF, for the smooth conduct of the Championship, has detailed a panel of technical officials that includes tournament director Syed Saa’dat Hussain Naqvi, tournament officers Ansar Jora and M. Shafique Bhatti.
Judges are Haroon Saeed, Allah Dad, Rana M. Afzal, Rana Arif Qayyum, Mirza Javaid and Zulfiqar Bhutto. Umpires Manager Rashad Ali Khan, assistant Dilawar Hussain Bhatti. Umpires: Mubarik Ali, Anwaar Hussain, Muhammad Asghar, Pervaiz Akhtar, Muhammad Mushtaq, Rana M. Liaqat, Rana M. Sajid, Shahid Pervaiz, Muhammad Nawaz (Haripur) and Mahmood Ali.
Positive initiative and decision by the Bahawalpur DHA to stage a tournament for Legendary late Munir Ahmad Dar the the greatest right full back the game has seen and all have enjoyed.I will go all to host tournaments in the major cities and towns to pay their respect and tribute to ever colorful image of the star who ruled this planet as a sound defender of Pakistan and the other teams he played for during his tenure. Also,BDHA has produced so many great players like Proud Motiullah Khan (Moti uncle)Flying Horse,Darling of Crowds and ever Smiling Samiullah Khan,Leaping and Jumping Hidyatullah Khan and Bold and Daring Kalimullah Khan.Munir Dar was a wonderful person and always worked for the promotion of the sport and sports. What other way one can think to take his cause under control and continue to promote the sport of hockey in the country.Welldone Bahwalpur District Hockey Association.
