Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakthukhwa President Afrasiab Khattak has asked the government as well as the Supreme Court to declare the Muttahida Qaumi Movement a terrorist organisation and put restrictions on it, a private TV channel reported.
Addressing a news conference, Khattak responded to allegations of MQM leader Altaf Hussain against his party. The ANP leader said that his party was not the creation of the mafia or a gang and that Altaf’s hands were soaked with the blood of Pakhtuns.
Speaking on the May 12, 2007 carnage, Khattak said that the situation in Karachi would not improve unless there was an investigation into incidents, which took place on that day. He said that they would not be satisfied until those behind the carnage were caught. Altaf Hussain had no answer to accusations made against him and his party by former Home Affairs minister Zulfiqar Mirza, he said.
On the other hand, an adjournment motion was submitted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against Altaf Hussain’s news conference. The adjournment motion was submitted by MPA Nighat Orakzai which stated that Altaf Hussain in his news conference said the history of Pakistan was false and the country was not formed on the basis of Islam.
Orakzai, the member of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, said in the motion that by declaring all Pakhtuns as Taliban, Altaf Hussain had insulted the Pakhtun nation.

The founder of ANP Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan was against Pakistan and did not wanted to be buried in Pakistan. Why should ANP be not declared terrorist organization.

200 % agreed with u that mqm is terrorist organisation who killed thousands innocent peoples and destroyed business hub of pakistan karachi and involved extortion. karachi is hostage in the hands of MQM since 1985. MQM is not pro pakstan their masters r sitting in india and bratain. MqM is giving protaction to Qadianis preaching places in karachi which shows MQM chief Altaf hussains religious affiliation. In his speach Altaf hussain attacked all four Imams and their followers. Altaf , s this behaviour expose his religious affiliation.

Every now and then, they raise a dust storm against MQM. Conspiracies after conspiracies are hatched to deprive the Urdu-speaking people of their political rights. How long will this continue? They call Altaf Hussain a traitor. But they called Mujeeb a traitor as well. The Bengalis were despised and hated although it was in Dacca that the Muslim League was formed in 1906, and it was a Bengali who proposed the Pakistan Resolution. The distribution of these certificates of treason must stop immediately. Pakistan belongs to everyone. Pushing an entire segment of the population to the wall is bound to produce friction in the body politics. The only way to remove these ever increasing frictions is to give the people their legitimate rights. Let the people feel free to pursue their political aspirations. Let the people be the judge of what is right and what is wrong. Let no leniency be shown to the criminals. Let them be hanged and let them be hanged high so that others may take heed. But the charge must be proved before condemning as guilty.
This reminds me Bhutto’s time when ANP (former NAP) was banned and was viewed as anti-Pakistan. I guess ANP has forgotten that time and insists on history to be repeated.
