Amidst increasing number of dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, another such case was reported from Mardan on Friday when a 25-year-old man named Muhammad Jameel was tested positive for dengue.
In Khyber Pakhtuhkhwa, 50 cases of dengue have been reported so far, according to the provincial health authorities. Out of these 50 reported cases, 11 have been confirmed with at least 3 deaths because of the disease—one each in Peshawar, Nowshera and Mansehra.
Jameel, who had been suffering from high fever, was brought to Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar where he was tested positive for dengue.
It appears that like other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, little is being done in Mardan to control the dengue virus.
Separately, the district administration of Swat started anti-dengue spray campaign on Friday in order to avoid threats of dengue and malaria there.
Swat’s tehsil administration started the campaign in Rahimabad, Saidu Sharif and Mingora City.
Tehsil administration spokesman Muhammad Razzaq told APP that anti-dengue campaign was started after reports of some unconfirmed dengue cases.
