CCPO bans lead pencil’s use for FIR registration

Following court orders, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has put a complete ban on the use of lead pencils for registration of FIRs in Police Stations to stop possible changes in FIRs and to ward of any remote possibility of implication of persons after registration of the case. CCPO has ordered all police stations to write FIRs with ballpoint pens, instead of lead pencils.
Furthermore, Ahmad Raza Tahir has also banned use of lead pencils for writing of Roze Namcha, which is a Police Register that maintains record of daily working of police officials. CCPO has also directed all the divisional SPs to monitor the police record and official registers placed in police stations in this regard. He warned that the policemen found involved in using a lead pencil would not only be suspended, but strict legal action would also be taken against them.
