China had been a time tested friend of Pakistan in war and peace and the nation could feel the warmth of friendship Chinese had extended to it, said Punjab Senior Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa on Friday.
The minister was present at the inauguration ceremony of a week-long photo exhibition organised at the Alhamra Art Gallery by the embassy of People’s Republic of China in connection with the celebration of 2011 as the year of Pakistan-China friendship. Appreciating the Chinese pace of progress, Khosa said China was the emerging leader of the world. Embassy of People’s Republic of China Cultural Counsellor Yang Lin Hai said Lahore was the cultural capital of Pakistan that is why the embassy organised the exhibition here.
He praised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership and the Punjab government for their warm relations with China and the Chinese leadership. The exhibition displayed 60 different pictures taken during the 60 years’ course of Pakistan-China relationship. The photograph depicted the cooperation and cultural exchanges of both countries since 1951. The photos will be on display in Alhamra till September 16. A number of Chinese also attended the event including Chinese embassy staff and teachers.
Richard TJ, a young Chinese language teacher at Aitchison College told Pakistan Today that he had arrived in Pakistan with his three other fellows Chen Fang, Ma Fei and Lie Hong 10 days ago and found Pakistanis very friendly to Chinese people. He said such exhibitions help us understand each other.
