‘Spread message of peace among people of Karachi’

The Shura Hamdard Karachi chapter in its unanimous resolution urged political parties, media, ulema, poets, writers, teachers and students to spread the message of peace among the citizens of Karachi.
The Shura also urged the citizens of Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular to keep themselves away from those responsible for spreading hatred in Karachi and Pakistan on ethnic and religious grounds. The resolution was passed at a meeting of the Shura, presided over by the former chief justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Haziqul Khairi, at a hotel.
Hamdard Foundation Pakistan President Mrs Sadia Rashid was also participated in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, former ambassador of Pakistan Mahdi Masud said that it was the duty of those political parties who won in general elections to provide safety to their voters.
“I appealed to ulema in a TV talk show to convey the message of peace and love in their speeches,” he said. “It was a positive sign that a joint statement of 50 ulema in this regard had appeared in newspapers a few days back,” he added. Justice (retd) Haziqul Khairi said that Karachi is bleeding, but no one, even poets and writers, who are supposed to be sensitive human beings, is raising their voice against this cruelty.
Abul Fazal, a former diplomat, shared Khairi’s views saying that whatever is happening in Karachi and the country is a “war of haves and have-nots”. Nusrat Nasarullah and Mohammed Ahmed Sabzwari demanded that the Supreme Court should restore peace in Karachi and the chief justice of Pakistan should stay in Karachi till the situation becomes normal.
The other speakers of the event included Engineer Anwarul Haq Siddiqui, Mohammed Said Siddiqui, Dr Naeem Qureshi, Dr Mohammed Akhtar Saeed Siddiqui, Col (retd) Mukhtar Ahmed Butt and Sarshar Siddiqui.
