Pakistan’s history, being taught throughout the country, is false and this Islamic Republic is not the exact vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was a secular and always spoke and support equality for all, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain has said.
Addressing an important video conference from London, the MQM leader said that terrorists tortured and slaughtered innocent people during the past days in Karachi. “If I were not the chief of the party I would have been killed or taken someone’s life,” he said.
During the 2008 general elections, Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali was provided several million dollars by the US, he said while accusing the present ANP leadership of misguiding Pakhtuns. “If I was against Pakhtuns then why MQM enjoys their support across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
Without mentioning name, Atlaf criticised the act of Sindh former Home Affairs minister Zulfiqar Mirza who had placed the Holy Quran on his head during his news conference. “We should know that this holy book (the Quran) is for reading and for obtaining knowledge (from it),” he said.
He also said that statements made by some TV anchors that they would not let the MQM remain in sole power in Karachi were an act of dictatorship. The press conference comes in the backdrop of Mirza’s news conference and statements against the MQM and its leadership and also the suo moto case (on Karachi violence) which is being heard by the Supreme Court.
Late on Thursday, addressing an emergency meeting of the MQM Rabita Committee in London and Karachi, Altaf said without naming any country that international powers were hatching conspiracies for the division of Pakistan. He said whatever was being done in Karachi was a conspiracy against the integrity of Pakistan.
Altaf said that he would accept martyrdom but never compromise on his ideology and mission. He asked party activists to chalk out future plans under his teachings if he is killed.

No, mr. altaf hussain quaid didnt make pakistan to be a secular state he made pakistan to be an islamic republic where the muslims could practica their religion freely and with out the interference of any one… i think you need to study some history of the subcontinent and of Pakistan before making any more CHUTIPAY statements!!

    • He envisioned a Islamic State that would be secular to people that are NOT Muslim. He envisioned a Islamic State where culture and tribes would not clash but the Muslims identity would rise and be a beacon for the Ummah.

      Now Muslim are killing Muslims and at the same time killing non-Muslims that still want to be called Pakistani.

  8. Brothers, Pakistan was made on the basis of equality and freedom. Not only Muslims, everyone was supposed to be free to practice their religion. The govenmenet had no right to enforce any particular religion. Quaid-e-Azam made it clear during his speech to the first constituent assembly.
    Pakistan was made to be a country where one could go their mosques, churches, mandirs or gurdawaras. It was much later (in Zia's era) when Islam was forced upon the minds of Pakistani people. I dont know how old you guys but that was the begining of the demise of the state of pakistan.

  13. This joker is making fool of people of Pakistan. Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and for this reason all the Muslim majority areas became part of Pakistan. Our claim on Kashmir is also based on the same philosophy. Creation of a secular Pakistan was never the intention or objective Pakistan. Altaf Hussain should better go through some books on Pakistan Movement particularly Allama Iqbal's Allahabad address of 1938 to understand the basic reasons for the creation of Pakistan.
