Apex Court has been prayed through a constitutional petition to investigate the allegations levelled against Rehman Malik and MQM chief Altaf Hussain by Zulfiqar Mirza in his statement.
Petition also requested the inquiry about the basis of violence in Karachi.
Constitutional petition has been filed by advocate Tariq Asad under article 184 (3) of the constitution on Thursday.
The petitioner took the plea that country was passing through critical phase of its history at present. Karachi issue has taken a very sensitive and serious posture, he added.
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza be summoned in the court and all the record with reference to allegations levelled by him in the perspective of violence in Karachi be taken into custody, petitioner pleaded. Court should investigate the charges and take stern action against the elements found involved in depriving Karachi of peace and security, he prayed.
The charges of treason made against interior minister Rehman Malik also be investigated and if he is found involved in any such activity then he should be arrested and action be initiated against him, petitioner said.
The court should order Altaf Hussain, chief of MQM who has fled from the country, to come back, he said adding accusations brought against him and his party should be investigated and if he is proved culprit then he should be awarded exemplary punishment. Whichever party is found involved in violence in Karachi be banned for ever, he further requested.
