Lahore District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem banned the use of lead pencil from all police stations on Tuesday for writing the first information reports (FIR). Mustaqeem issued a directive to all police stations to use ballpoints for writing FIRs so that the information could not be changed and innocent people were not falsely accused in a case after its registration. It was based on information that policemen used lead pencils to write FIRs so that they could falsely nominate innocent people as suspects according to their own will later on.
