National Disabled Cricket C’ship starts today


The third National Disabled Cricket Championship will roll into action from today at two different venues of the city.
The championship, which will be played in two phases, will see Lahore, Peshawar and Azad Kashmir in pool A at the LCCA ground while Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Sialkot and Faisalabad in pool B figure out at Bagh-e-Jinnah’s Lahore Gymkhana ground.
Pool C comprises Karachi, Hyderabad and Bahawalpur, while pool D includes Multan, Quetta and Sargodha will play in Karachi. The dates of Pool C and Pool D matches, the semi-finals and the final would be announced later, said Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association Secretary Amir Uddin Ansari in a press conference here at Lahore Press Club.
He further said on the opening day Rawalpindi-Islamabad would face Faisalabad and Peshawar would meet Azad Kashmir. He said that Rs 200,000 had been put at stake with the winners taking Rs 100,000 while the runners-up getting Rs 50,000.
