Pakistan Today

Ally or enemy!

Since the Cold War ended, America has become the only superpower in the world and has always tried to maintain its hegemonic status. In the aftermath of 9/11 events, terrorism emerged as a threat to America’s superpower status to which America responded quickly but could not oust it. Perhaps that power was also mandatory for the maintenance of the status of America.

Pakistan happens to be an ally of America since almost its independence. It stood for America in every situation whether Cold War era or war against terror. Pakistan army, being a non-NATO ally, has always played vital role in all operations. But the US interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs has gradually increased despite resentment from general public. Drone attacks by US spy planes have proved to be disastrous for Pakistan. The situation in FATA and North Waziristan became more severe because of interference from Afghanistan.

It seems American interests can only be fulfilled by interference in Pakistan. The main target seems to be Pakistan’s nuclear assets. Though it provided aid to Pakistan, its real intent is hidden yet.

If we go through the history, one thing is very clear that America has never been a friend of any state. It always seeks its interests by making relations with other states. “We don’t need intelligence sharing with ISI, our network is already widened.” It is very clear with this statement that the US intelligence is working inside Pakistan’s very society and government. US has problem with Pakistan-China friendship.

Pakistani nation has potential to stand against any negative force. I request the whole nation to stand up for the state. They should play their role individually and work united for development of the nation. It’s time to wake up.
