Expressing concerns over Karachi situation, Tehrik Istiqlal Chief Rehmat Khan Wardag alleged US involvement would pave the ways for NATO troop deployment.
Speaking at the Khyber Union of Journalist’s Mulaqat in Peshawar on Wednesday he said the US intended the disintegration of Pakistan.
KhUJ President Arshad Aziz Malik welcomed Wardag and informed him about the unions activities.
Wardag expressed concerns over the negative policies of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Mutahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) on Karachi.
He said the leadership of the three parties had US links and were involved in conspiracies to disintegrate Pakistan.
He appreciated former military dictator Pervez Musharaf’s policies and said “there was peace in Karachi during Musharraf regime.” He claimed violence peaked during the present government and President Asif Ali Zardari was responsible for the Karachi violence and deteriorating law and order situation elsewhere. He said the PPP and its coalition partners were involved in corruption and misuse of power.
Favouring maximum provincial autonomy, he said political leaders had negated the democratic process within political parties through the 18th amendment. He said the problems in the country could be resolved with maximum provincial autonomy and holding general elections on proportional basis.
