Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani was received by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Co-Chairman Pak-Kazakhstan Joint Ministerial Commission, Ambassador of Pakistan and the senior officials of the Kazakhstan Government and embassy officials on Tuesday.
PM Gilani is the first Prime Minister of Pakistan to undertake bi-lateral visit sixteen years after Benazir Bhutto visited the country in 1995.
He is expected to hold discussions on wide range of subjects pertaining to trade, commerce, science and Technology, peaceful use of nuclear energy, prospects of exporting cement for the booming construction sector in the country. The Prime Minister will also discuss to assist the host country in the field of agriculture in which Pakistan has fairly done well in the different facts of agriculture engineering.
The Prime Minister appreciated the endeavors of the Kazakhstan President for raising the profile of the country by holding the summit titled Organization of Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Pakistan may invite Kazakhstan to invest in the TAPI (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India) gas pipeline.
It is believed that the commencing of PIA flight from Islamabad to Kabul, Tashkent, Almaty and back to Islamabad may be discussed.
