Pakistani Taliban claim responsibility for Quetta blasts

Pakistani taliban have claimed responsibility for a car bomb followed by a suicide attack targeting security forces that killed 25 people and wounded at least 55 others in Quetta on Wednesday. According to a Taliban spokesman, bomb blasts were to avenge arrest of Al-Qaeda operative. The spokesman added that Colonel Shehzad who was killed in the bombings was the FC Commandant who ordered the firing on the Chechen women.
According to senior police official Hamid Shakil, a car bomb exploded outside the residence of DIG Frontier Corps, then a suicide bomber entered inside the house and blew himself up.
“At least 25 people have been killed and 55 were wounded, the death toll may still rise,” he said, adding that the deputy chief had been injured and his wife was killed in the attack, while two children were also among the dead.
He said that seven troops from the Frontier Corps including an army officer had also been killed.
