The city government has completed the first phase of the modern oil terminal in Zulfiqarabad and the PC-I for its second phase, costing Rs 313 million, has been sent to the government for approval, Karachi District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mohammad Hussain Syed said on Tuesday. “The construction of a modern oil terminal would pave way for shifting oil tanker terminals outside Karachi,” he added. Syed was speaking during a meeting at the DCO Camp Office. “Work on the second phase would begin after the government approves its PC-I A technical committee in this connection is being formed and all stakeholders will be taken on board for this project. The Phase-II is expected to be completed within a year,” he said. The meeting was attended by EDO Works and Services Altaf G Memon, EDO Transport Atique Baig and representatives of police, the Karachi Port Trust and other organisations.
