US President Barack Obama is supporting the drone war in Pakistan as an “election campaign strategy” for next year’s presidential race, investigative journalist Gareth Porter told a foreign news channel.
He said Obama’s personal political interests aligned with CIA interests, therefore, he is interested in showing his success in combating al-Qaeda.
He said the CIA’s interest in the drone operations was to “satisfy its own constituency, its own staff.” He said the CIA had committed itself to a drone war to gets jobs.
