Awami National Party Sindh President Shahi Syed said on Tuesday that his party is representing all ethnicities equally during the Supreme Court’s suo motu case hearing on Karachi violence. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ANP leader was quoted as saying that his party wants to fulfil its responsibility for restoration of peace in the city where miscreants have killed a large number of innocent people.
“Despite having reservations over ongoing targeted operations in the city, the [ANP] is calm, however, law enforcement agencies must ensure the honour of people,” he stated, adding that his party will not remain silent if any innocent is punished only to show as performance of the law enforcement agencies.
The ANP leader said that no leniency should be shown in dealing with criminal elements during the operation. He also appealed to the people to play their due role in restoration of peace in the city and identify black sheep among their ranks.
