Environmentalist fear the excessive use of the polythene bags would severely damage the already fragile eco balance of this world as these bags take more than a hundred year to decompose and play havoc with environment in the meantime. According to an Online survey, abundance of polythene bags as litter has become a horrible site at every intersection of the twin cities. Sociologists believe littering would gradually eliminate from developing countries as method of garbage collection in these countries leave much to be desired. Infrastructure in developing countries is in a shambles and sanitary staff is less trained. Environmentalists also fear these bags could pose major life threats in the form of flooding since they can block drainage system of mega metropolis, thus paving way to floods.
