The Pakistan cycling team has got the No Objection Certificate to participate in an international road cycle tournament in India which will start from September 11 in New Delhi. The Indian ministry gave clearance to the Pakistan team to take part in the Tour de Delhi Cycle Race while Pakistan government has already allowed the national cyclists to take part in the event. A six-member national team will leave for India on September 9.
The team is fully prepared for good results in India, said secretary Pakistan Cycling Federation Idris Haider Khawaja. They practiced at night during Ramazan to beat the heat and maintain the sanctity of the holy month, he added. The event was early supposed to be held on September 4 but was pushed back to be held on September 11. A one-day event will see cyclists covering 104 kilometers. The team comprises six cyclists: Noor Alam, Sabir, Zahid Gulfam, Sajid Khan , Muhammad Rafique and Zahid Mahmood (Army).
