Chitral residents demand judicial enquiry in Arandu incident

Residents of Domel Arandu, Chitral held a protest against Afghan militants for attacking Pakistani security forces and demanded that the government compensate the families of the killed men hailing from the area and launch a judicial enquiry into the incident.
Asmat Chitrali, Maulana Abdullah Jan, Gul Wali and Sher Zaman led protesters, who carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans against Afghan militants and favouring the compensation demands. They also raised slogans seeking protection for Domel Arandu residents. They said the assault was due to the negligence of the Chitral administration and Levies Forces’ officials in the district due to which dozens of security men were killed. The protesters demanded the transfer of District Coordination Officer (DCO) and Levies Commandant from Chitral. They demanded foolproof arrangements on the border to curtail further terrorism from Afghanistan. They demanded the reconstruction of all bridges destroyed in cross fire.
