The Sindh Home Department held a meeting on Sunday to review the equipment needed to strengthen police under the Rs 5 billion package announced by President Asif Ali Zardari. The participants of the meeting identified vehicles, weapons and updated close circuit camera system among the police force’s most urgent and essential requirements.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and attended by President’s Secretary General Salman Farooqui, Home Minister Manzoor Wasan, Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Inspector General of Police Wajid Ali Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Wasim Ahmed, Finance Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Atta Mohammad Panhwar.
