The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has sanctioned 25 permanent posts to adjust blue-eyed daily workers in violation of government rules. Pakistan Today learnt on good authority that the ICT administration’s high-ups have sanctioned 25 posts to induct employees on a permanent basis. These posts were not advertised in the press, which is a prerequisite according to government rules. A credible source said favourites were being selected on 25 posts from grade one to 14, including four slots of secretaries of union councils. However, he said, official appointment letters had not been issued yet.
According to documents available with Pakistan Today, the said posts were sanctioned by the Islamabad chief commissioner. The source said that Executive Engineer Saifullah Ahsi, Development Officer Mirza Qamar Hussain and Deputy Director Muhamamd Munir were playing an important role in adjusting the blue-eyed daily employees allegedly after taking bribe. According to the source, no approval was taken from the deputy commissioner and finance director for sanctioning these posts. Talking to Pakistan Today, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Amir Ahmed Ali said he was conducting an inquiry into the alleged illegal recruitments. Answering a query, he confirmed that he had not sanctioned the posts. He said if anyone was found guilty of taking bribes for the recruitmentss, strict action would be taken against them. According to the source, those being appointed to permanent posts included Muhammad Fayyaz(assistant BPS-14), Rafaqat Ali Khan (supervisor),Mazhar Ali (supervisor), Muhammad Zubair (supervisor) and others.
Supervisors Usman Ahmed, Ghulam Murtaza, Irfan Mahmood and Syed Taimoor have been selected for the posts of secretary union councils.
