Ayesha, 8, a resident of Walton Road, died due to the alleged negligence of doctors in General Hospital on Sunday. Relatives of the deceased girl staged a protest outside General Hospital. The deceased fell from the rooftop of her house and received serious injuries. Her family rushed her to General Hospital where doctors reportedly did not treat her properly. Family members alleged that doctors told them that they did not have artificial oxygen machine. Ayesha was left for four hours without oxygen and expired due to lack of oxygen. Infuriated family members broke windowpanes of the Operation Theatre at the hospital and staged a protest against the doctors of General Hospital. Protesters burnt tyres and blocked Ferozpur Road for several hours by placing the dead body on the road. Protesters chanted slogans against doctors. The relatives of the victim alleged that doctors had moreover used abusive language. Model Town SP Awais Malik and Kot Lakhpat SHO Kashif Khalil reached the spot and assured immediate justice. After that protesters dispersed peacefully.
Doctors said they had oxygen but the family had brought the patient in a very critical condition and she died due to the severity of her injuries. On the one hand police assured protestors that justice would be carried out, while on the other hand they registered a case against 20 unidentified persons on the complaint of Doctor Suhrab.
MURDER: Shahbaz Alam alias Munna Shah, 42, resident of Papar Market, was shot dead near Shah Alam road by two motorcyclists over old enmity in Rang Mahal Police precincts on Sunday. The unidentified suspects managed to flee from the scene. Police said Shahbaz had many rivalries in his area. Family members alleged that two persons named Lal Butt and Zahid Butt had killed him. No FIR was registered till filing of this report.
MINOR DEAD: Muhammad Zain, 12, a resident of Sabzazar, succumbed to injuries on Sunday in Sheikh Zayed Hospital. According to the police, the deceased was playing in front of his house on August 29. His neighbour, named Asad, told him to stop playing cricket in the street but Zain did not heed it. After that Asad got furious and tossed a brick at him, inflicting fatal injuries upon the child. Police have registered a case against Asad with no arrest so far.
