A downpour halted life in the capital on Sunday as rainwater inundated numerous busy roads. The rainfall in the federal capital, as usual, scared away motorists and bikers as the water flooded on main roads especially at Sultan Bahu road, Jasmine road and Nazimuddin road. Then said roads on Sunday afternoon were presenting the view of cesspool as children from nearby localities enjoyed a bath in rainwater with great enthusiasm.
The accumulated rainwater on Nazimuddin Road caused leaving two motorcyclists injured. On Sultan Bahu Road and Jasmine Road a large number of vehicles remained stuck for hours in the rainwater. Citizens said that authorities concerned should devise an effective plan to prevent such undesirable situations.
